STANTON DREW CIRCLES AND COVE
10 miles from Filton Parish
Although this is the third largest complex of prehistoric standing stones in England, the three circles and three-stone ‘cove’ of Stanton Drew in Somerset are surprisingly little known. The Great Circle, 113 metres in diameter, is one of the largest stone circles in the country and has 26 surviving upright stones. Yet recent surveys have revealed that the circles and cove were just part of a much more elaborate and important ritual site than had previously been imagined.

St. Peter's Church Filton in the Diocese of Bristol is a warm and friendly Anglican church with a mission 'To Proclaim the Christian Faith.'
Our strategy is: to worship God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit; to draw all people to the love and fellowship of Christian faith; to teach, sustain and nurture the worshipping community and to outreach beyond the parish into the wider world. We enjoy a healthy attendance from people of all ages at our Sunday services and encourage participation in the many midweek activities.
With a life rooted in the sacraments, we reach out into the community and seek to offer something for all. Our lively Coffee Shop open throughout the week, is a thriving example of our place within the community.
